Subitising 3 and 4
Reception have been looking at the different ways 3 and 4 can be made. The Numberblocks help us to remember! Today they made their own subitising cards with spots and stickers!
Writing poetry
Year 2 have been thinking about what makes them unique to create Who am I? poems. We celebrated what makes us special and some of the children are now using handwriting pens for writing too!
Investigating woodland habitats
Today we researched woodland habitats and the animals that might live there using the iPads.We found out about diet, predators and shelters to create fact cards for a fox, barn owl and a dormouse.

Phonics in Reception

We had a visit today from Alan from the RNLI. He told us all about the amazing work they do. He also shared ways we can keep ourselves safe when we are near the water.
Animal Homes
We created animal homes using a variety of natural materials. Then we tested them to see if they were waterproof or absorbent - two words we learnt in our Materials topic! We found out the more layers, the better! Team work makes the dream work!

In Science we were inspired by The Gruffalo to look closely at animal footprints. We needed to recall our measuring skills using a ruler!
PE Enrichment Day
We found out about The Olympic Games which begin in Paris on 26th July and had a go at some events, building our skills and our fitness! At the end of the day we celebrated with Class 2 and 3 by holding a closing ceremony and showing off our dance and performance skills.
